Unfortunately the patch doesn't fix the lengthy loading times, but the developers have acknowledged this issue and have reassured fans that it will be fixed in future updates: "We are continuing to work on improvements in a number of key areas, including the long-awaited faster level loading times and further significant performance improvements," an update on the developer's blog reads.

Thankfully, Stainless Games has released a patch update that addresses this key issue in what is the first update for the game since it smashed onto systems back in May, along with a host of other improvements.Īccording to the patch notes, Carmageddon Reincarnation players can expect a performance boost by as much as 25 – 30% on standard settings, which should be a relief to anyone who struggled to run smoothly.Īdditional optimisations also improve the performance for machines with low RAM, while SLI/Crossfire support has also now been added. The general consensus of Carmageddon Reincarnation is that it looks a bit on the scrappy side, but one of its more serious issues was that it was its crippling performance issues that made the game practically unplayable even on high-end systems.
